Health and Safety Update – Covid-19 and Swimming Pools

Dear Member,

At DKIT Sport, your health and safety is our top priority and we’d like to reassure you we are constantly monitoring the situation regarding Covid-19 and implementing all cautionary measures as advised by the HSE. We have issued information and guidance on the sanitary provisions we have put in place in recent weeks. In case you missed it, please see HERE.

We want to take this opportunity to give you further information in relation to the swimming pool environment. We have attached an article from the HSE, that details the requirements for swimming pools to continue operate in a normal manner and to halt the spread of COVID-19 in the swimming pool available here.

DKIT Sport is a chlorinated pool. The requirement, as per industry guidelines and the HSE, is to have a minimum ‘Free Chlorine’ level of 1.0mg/l. In DKIT Sport, we have an automated control for the maintaining of the chlorine level to a slightly higher level to the above industry guidelines. This automated system is also checked and tested by staff throughout the day. Our pool water is also tested externally by an independent laboratory.

Should you have any queries on this please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We would also ask, that anyone who feels they may be affected by COVID-19, that you follow the guidelines of the HSE.

We’d like to thank you for your continued support in adhering to the sanitary provisions we have put in place.

Kind Regards,
Kelly Gaffney
Operations Manager
